PTR and PTS calculator

Type the MRP and the GST rate, then the margins. See the price to retailer (PTR), the price to stockist (PTS) and what each earns on a pack.

GST rate
MRP without GST
₹100.00
Retailer earns per pack
₹20.00
Stockist earns per pack
₹8.00
PTS — price to stockist
₹72.00
PTR — price to retailer
₹80.00

Margins differ by company and product. Your supplier’s invoice is the final word.

How PTR and PTS are worked out here

MRP includes GST, so the GST comes out first. The retailer’s margin is taken off the MRP without GST to give the PTR; the stockist’s margin is taken off the PTR to give the PTS.

  • MRP without GST = MRP ÷ (1 + GST)
  • PTR = MRP without GST × (1 − retailer margin)
  • PTS = PTR × (1 − stockist margin)

An example

A pack at MRP ₹105 with 5% GST, a 20% retailer margin and a 10% stockist margin.

  • MRP without GST: ₹100
  • PTR: ₹80 — the retailer earns ₹20
  • PTS: ₹72 — the stockist earns ₹8

Questions

What do PTR and PTS mean?

PTR is the price to retailer — what the chemist pays the stockist before GST. PTS is the price to stockist — what the stockist pays the company.

Are the margins always 20% and 10%?

No. Those are common starting points, but margins differ by company, by product and by scheme. Type the ones on your supplier’s invoice.

Does MedBox24 show my margin on each medicine?

Yes. Purchases keep your rate, and reports show profit by product and by day; the dashboard shows gross margin.
